Es fing an mit den Sex Pistols und The Damned - doch als ich Jean Jaques Burnels Bassgitarre bei "Good bye Toulouse" von den Stranglers hörte, war es komplett um mich geschehen! Bis heute hat Punk für mich seine Power und Energie nie verloren, und ich liebe all diese Songs wie am ersten Tag!
In diesem Buch möchte ich die Anfänge der Punk-Bewegung in Bremen beschreiben. Über die ständigen Auseinandersetzungen mit rechten Skinheads, und wie man jeden Penny zusammenkratzte, um nur bei jeder guten Show dabei zu sein - zuerst in Bremen, dann in anderen deutschen Städten, dann im gelobten England, sowie später in Kalifornien.
Für mich ist es heute noch ein niemals endendes Abenteuer, und ich bin letztendlich 2012 in der Bay Area "gelandet".
Ich werde im Dezember 2014 fünfzig Jahre alt, und Punk Rock ist nach wie vor die einzige Art von Musik, die mir ständig Gänsehaut macht. Und das wird sich, wie bei vielen "Infizierten", bis zum letzten Atemzug auch nicht mehr ändern!
