Supermärkte führen durchschnittlich über 10.000 Artikel und es kommen jährlich weitere 26.000 Produkte auf den Markt. Das hat zur Folge, dass mittlerweile alleine in Deutschland über 50.000 Marken aktiv beworben werden und der Kunde sich einer enormen Kommunikationsflut entgegen sieht.

Als Konsequenz ist ein Paradigmenwechsel in der Marketingkommunikation festzustellen. Bisher anonyme Kunden bekommen ein Profil, die Einwegkommunikation des Massenmarketing entwickelt sich zum individuellen Dialog und Wettbewerbsvorteile winken nur noch dem, der emotionale Erlebnisse für den Kunden inszeniert. Mit diesen wegweisenden Veränderungen wächst die Bedeutung nicht-klassischer Kommunikationsinstrumente, wie dem Event-Marketing.

Um nun langfristig erfolgreich zu sein, muss die Effektivität und Effizienz dieses sehr komplexen Kommunikationsinstruments gesteigert werden. Daher wird es zukünftig unabdingbar sein, Event-Marketing an den Bedürfnissen der Zielgruppe auszurichten, die Kommunikationsbotschaften an dem Lebensstil der Zielgruppe anzupassen und Trends zu beachten, um somit die Aufmerksamkeit des Kunden zurückgewinnen zu können.

Gegenstand der folgenden Arbeit ist daher die Verifizierung der Hypothese "Der Einsatz von Lifestyle-Orientierung und Trend-Beachtung kann den Wirkungsgrad eines Marketing-Events erhöhen". Es wird aufgezeigt, dass aufgrund des wachsenden Freizeit- und Erlebnistrends und der damit einhergehenden wachsenden Eventlandschaft, es zukünftig von besonderer Relevanz sein wird, die Wirkung von Marketing-Events zu maximieren. Mit der Lifestyle-Orientierung und Trend-Beachtung ist hierfür ein vielversprechendes Instrument gefunden worden.
