Er hat in Brasilien als Landwirt gelebt uns ist nie wieder in seine Heimat Deutschland zurückgekehrt. Seine Erzählungen über Deutschland haben mich und die gesamte Familie in Brasilien immer sehr beschäftigt, auch wenn ich sie selbst nicht von ihm hören konnte. Die Erzählungen wurden von Generation zu Generationen weitergegeben. Uns haben seine Geschichten über das weitentfernte Deutschland so sehr interessiert, dass wir angefangen haben über seine Beweggründe für die Auswanderung zu recherchieren. Mein Bruder kam nach Deutschland und konnte vieles in Erfahrung bringen. Mich hat das damals so beeindruckt, dass ich als 20. Jährige mehr über dieses Land erfahren wollte. Und somit habe mich auf den langen Weg nach Deutschland gemacht. Es sollte nur für ein Jahr sein, ein Jahr um Land und Leute meines Vorfahrens kennen zu lernen. Nach einem Jahr war ich so begeistert von der Mentalität und von den berufliche Möglichkeiten in Deutschland, dass ich nicht mehr zurück in meine Heimat wollte. Ich entschied mich für ein Leben in Europa auch wenn dies eine große räumliche Trennung zu meiner Familie mit sich brachte. Meine Vorgeschichte veranlasste mich diese Arbeit über die türkische Migration zu schreiben. Sowie es mich immer sehr interessiert hat wieso mein Uhrgroßvater von Deutschland weg wollte, möchte ich anhand dieser Arbeit erfahren was die Türken damals dazu bewegt hat ihre Heimat zu verlassen um nach Deutschland zu kommen. Was fühlten sie, warum sind viele nicht mehr in ihre Heimat zurückgekehrt und welche Schwierigkeiten haben sie hier vorgefunden.
