Gruppen- und/oder Unternehmensziele werden oftmals aufgrund kultureller Differenzen nicht oder nur ineffizient erreicht. So birgt die Interaktion mit Menschen aus einem fremden Kulturkreis (hier: Landeskulturen) eine Reihe von Konfliktherden, denen man jedoch durch eine kulturorientiert gestaltete Personalführung beikommen kann.
Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit den Chancen und Problemfeldern multikultureller Führung und ist in drei Hauptbereiche gegliedert:
Im Teil 2 werden zunächst die theoretischen Grundlagen der Personalführung erläutert, um dann in einem nächsten Schritt das der Arbeit zugrundeliegende Verständnis von Kultur aufzuzeigen und auf dessen Bedeutung als verhaltensmitbestimmenden Einflussfaktor einzu-gehen. Abschließend für Teil 2 erfolgt eine Zusammenfassung der Ergeb-nisse aus den zwei bedeutendsten empirischen Studien zur „Charakte-risierung“ von Landeskulturen.
Teil 3 der Arbeit beleuchtet die Probleme, Konfliktpotenziale und Schwierigkeiten, aber auch Chancen, die sich innerhalb multikultureller Teams zeigen. Während zunächst die unterschiedlichen Entstehungsarten und Hintergründe der Zusammensetzung multinationaler Gruppen skizziert werden, folgt in einem zweiten Schritt die Darstellung der für eine effektive und effiziente Arbeitsleistung solcher Teams optimale Zusammensetzung und Leistungsstruktur.
- Im Teil 4 werden schließlich Aktionsparameter für eine gelungene multikulturelle Führung aufgezeigt. Für Führungskräfte werden hierzu die in Teil 2 dargestellten, gewonnenen Erkenntnisse aus den Studien zu einem Katalog an Trainingsmaßnahmen zur Entwicklung interkultureller Kompetenz aufgelistet. Abschließend werden einige aus der Personallehre aus-gewählte Führungsinstrumente zur direkten Beeinflussung des Mitarbeiterverhaltens innerhalb des propagierten kulturellen Kontexts eingebettet und so den Führungskräften als direkte, kulturbewusste Interaktionsparameter nahegelegt.
